L to R: postman, ?, Mr Cripps, Matilda Swain & Tango(?) the dog,?, ?, ?, outside the New Cricketers. Man on right may be William Pates. d.o.b about 1860–63. It is thought that the picture was taken about 1914–19 but maybe as early as 1910.
Land girls at Manor Farm, Caddington. Clare Samm (Fletcher)(left), Betty Gray (?)(right) came from Luton as a land girl. She was taken away from Inion’s farm as the farmer has an affair with a woman who was not his wife.
